Essential Oils That Repel Bugs
Growing a garden is hard enough without insects interfering!
After lots of hard work and spending all of your time watering your garden, weeding it, and watching it grow, there is nothing worse than coming out one morning to find that bugs have destroyed your plants!
Is there a way to prevent this? Is there a way to get rid of these pests if they do strike?
The answer is yes! And you can do it in a natural organic way!
You can keep the pests away while keeping your garden safe and healthy!
You can do it with essential oils!
Essential Oils for Garden Pests
Now you might be wondering how this works?
Essential oils are basically the cells of plants. The essential oils that I recommend in this article come from herbs and plants that bugs do not like. It is basically a concentrated version of the plant that it comes from.
For example, it takes approximately 40 rose petals to make 1 drop of rose essential oil! Now that is concentrated, is it not?!
So by spraying a mixture containing essential oils on your plants, produce, or the ground around them, you can eliminate those creepy crawlers that plague you and your garden!
Essential Oils for Pest Control in the Garden
There are a couple of different ways to use your essential oils in the garden.
You can either add approximately 10 drops to a gallon of water in a watering can, and water your plants with it. Or you can add that mixture to a spray bottle and mist them that way. I feel like I control the dispersion of the essential oils best when I use it in a spray bottle.
If you’re spraying the oils around the perimeter of your garden you can use a stronger dilution ratio. I like to start with 10 drops per gallon though when spraying it directly on plants to be sure that the plant can handle the oils.
You might have to reapply regularly to prevent insects from entering your garden, and you might have to apply multiple times to rid your garden of existing insects.
Also remember that essential oils are not water soluble. So you will have to continually shake your spray bottle as you spray it on the plants.
