How To Make Your Own Healthy Mayonnaise!

Most store bought mayonnaise is full of nasty ingredients such as soy and canola oil. Not to mention sugar. It really is disgusting!

The easy answer is to stop eating mayonnaise. But, if you’re like me, you looove mayonnaise! So, I have a better solution! Make your own mayonnaise!

Its super easy to do, inexpensive, and delicious!

Seriously, once you make this mayonnaise you will never try another recipe!

I am so in love with this mayonnaise! It is great in and on everything!

Sandwiches, chicken salad, my favorite Curried Egg Salad…you name it! They are all happier when made with this mayonnaise!

Now, I have to admit, that I actually did not make this recipe myself. (Gasp!) I got this recipe from my Aunt Joyce. But the recipe is sooo good, that I asked her if I could please share it with you! And luckily for you, she said yes;) Thanks Aunt Joyce!:)

Now, you’re probably anxious to hear what those super healthy ingredients I talked about are, aren’t you! Well, here you go!

And, did I mention that it is soooo yummy?! The texture is creamy smooth, and the color that the egg yolk and the mustard gives it is so beautiful!

Ok, so let’s go over how to make this super healthy mayonnaise.


How To Make Mayonnaise

Instructions:

1. First, add all of the ingredients (reserving 3/4 cup of the olive oil) to a blender or a mixing bowl. The recipe says to use a blender, but I always use a bowl and a hand mixer and it turns out beautifully.

2. Starting on low, mix until all of the ingredients are incorporated. Then gradually increase the speed to be sure that everything is mixed really well.

3. While blending on med/high, slowly pour in the remaining 3/4 cup of olive oil. Continue to blend until all of the olive oil is incorporated and the mixture begins to slightly thicken. This should only take a few minutes.

4. Then pour your mayonnaise into a glass jar and store it in the fridge. The mayonnaise will thicken as it chills.

And that’s it! You’ve just made incredibly delicious, healthy mayonnaise!

  • 1 Cup olive oil Organic Extra Virgin (reserve 3/4 cup)
  • 1 Organic Fresh Egg (Preferably local or from your own free range chickens:)
  • 1 Tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice Organic, fresh
  • 1/2 tsp. Himalayan Pink Salt
  • 1 tsp. Dry Mustard Organic
