Fall Spice Kombucha!

Fall Spice Kombucha Recipe!

Fall is the best season! At least that’s my opinion:) Although I really think that it should be a fact;)

I love making fall foods such as my Pumpkin Spice Peanut Butter Buckeyes, Pecan Pie Muffins and Sweet Potato Pie Mashed Potatoes!

But I would be falling short if I didn’t add some fall flavor to my favorite beverage, Kombucha!

I love Kombucha as much as I love fall! So it was only natural for me to combine the two. And I’m so glad that I did!

This Fall Spice Kombucha is so aeromatic and crisp!

When you open the bottle the warm inviting scents of fall surrounds you, making you feel happy and at home.

It is the perfect Kombucha flavor to sip on while snuggling under a blanket or gathering around the bonfire!

And it is incredibly easy to make!

It will be the easiest treat you make this fall!

Now, getting back to our yummy fall spice flavor.

This post will assume that your Kombucha is already made and that you are ready for the second ferment!

Flavoring Kombucha

What you will need

Ok, first let’s go over our ingredients and supplies.

If you are using the Continuous Brew System this will be really easy! With it’s easy fill spout, filling bottles is a dream!

1. Bottles

You can use bottles that you have saved from store bought Kombucha, or you can purchase these glass bottles that are the same size.

I want to start experimenting with these swing top glass bottles to see if they will make a more fizzy second ferment.

2. Organic Cinnamon Sticks

You want to use cinnamon sticks and not cinnamon powder.

I experimented with both and the flavor of the Kombucha made with the sticks is much better!

Also, the cinnamon powder floats to the top and creates an unpleasant gritty texture that you don’t want in your Kombucha!

3. Whole Organic Cloves

Again, don’t use the powder. It really does change the flavor.

Like I said above, I tried both and the flavor and texture are just not the same.

By using whole ingredients you are basically infusing their flavor into the Kombucha, which is what makes it super yummy!

How To Flavor Kombucha

Now that you have your ingredients together, let’s get started!

1. First add half a stick of cinnamon and three cloves to each bottle.

This really is a matter of preference so experiment a little.

If you want to add three cloves to one bottle and one or two to another to see which you prefer, then do that!

2. The only other ingredient that you need to add to your bottles is your prepared Kombucha!

Fill it all the way to the top.

3. And finally, you are going to screw on the lids and put your bottles in a dark cabinet.

You want to allow your Kombucha to complete it’s second ferment. This will take anywhere from one to three days.

You need to leave it for at least a full 24 hours to give the Kombucha time to eat a portion of the natural sugars in the flavorings.

Of course the flavorings we are using today do not contain sugar like fruit juices do, so you really only need to leave it long enough to achieve the flavor that you want. If you leave it too long it will become vinegary because of the lack of sugar.

If you want a more mild flavor then let it sit for 24 hours. If after 24 hours the flavor isn’t strong enough for your taste, then let it sit another day.

The longer you leave it the more fizzy it will be.

But do not leave it longer than the three days. Leaving it longer than the three days will increase the alcohol content of your Kombucha, making it unsafe for children.

And that’s it!

Didn’t I tell you that this would be the easiest fall treat to make?!

Do you love fall and Kombucha as much as I do?
