Unfortunately our homes can contain lots of nasty chemicals and air pollutants!

These indoor air contaminants can come from our furniture, carpet, cleaners, air conditioner, and so many other products and items in our homes!

So what do we do? How can we help to remove these toxins?

In addition to diffusing essential oils, plants are a wonderful way to purify air!

NASA did a study on air pollutants and the ability of plants to remove them from the air. They found that the chemicals benzene, formaldehyde, xylene, toluene, ammonia, and trichloroethylene could be removed by certain types of plants and their soil.

The following plants are excellent plants to include in your home decor not only for a prettier home, but a healthier, cleaner home as well! Dumb Canes (Dieffenbachiaspp.)

Dumb Canes are a common houseplant that not only adds some greenery to your home but have the ability to remove the chemicals xylene and toluene from the air.

Kimberley Queen Fern (Nephrolepis obliterata)
